Caerleon Festival’s 2022 CHRISTMAS CRAFT & FOOD MARKET

CHRISTMAS CAME EARLY to Caerleon this year – with the tree on the Common, the Town Hall bedecked and Santa booked – on the 3rd December it all began.  Exhibitors helped by volunteers were all set for the community to enjoy a key event in the Caerleon calendar.

A convivial day ensued.  The quality and range of products were impressive.  More than a visit – Santa stayed for most of the day conducting a survey of who had been good (and bad) to inform his deliveries for Christmas Day.  A raffle offered the opportunity to win Christmas hampers brimming with donated goodies.  Seasonal music maintained the mood with “A Fairy Tale in New York” inducing an emotional lump in the throat from time to time.

Goodwill prevailed.  A memorable day.

Many thanks to all who came and all who helped make it happen.  Well done Loraine and Peter for planning and managing the event.  Well done Barbara, the team and donors for the raffle.  Thank you to all who set up, stewarded and took down.  Thank you to Richard, Paul & Lynne for the music and Peter for DJ duties responding to requests as and when required.   Thanks to the exhibitors for their expertise and enthusiasm.  So many to thank, so little time.
