Jawahir Dance Troup
Jawahir has been performing at this amazing Festival for over 15 years bringing vibrance, energy and colour to even the greyest of days.
TheTroupe is known at the Festival for it’s colourful costumes, dramatic headdresses and upbeat music. Most of it’s dances are choregraphed by Jawahir members except for a few which are traditional folk dances.
The Jawahir Dance Troupe is made up of all local women who combine the best of folk traditions with modern influences from around the world. It has been inspired by styles from North Africa, Egypt, Turkey, Armenia, Balkans and more.
The Troupe love all dancing, you may see it with their sword, sticks, tambourines, zills and veils depending on the mood.
