The Ponthir Recorder Harmonies

The Ponthir Recorder Harmonies

The Ponthir Recorder Harmonies started in 2016, when Carole Beagen retired from teaching. She so missed teaching children to play the recorder she started to wonder whether adults would also like to learn.

It is a small group of recorder players, some of whom have no experience of playing a musical instrument or even reading music. The group have been learning to play varying types of music from classical, carols, baroque and pop – performing at Ponthir W.I, St., at Cadoc’s Church and recently supporting Croesyceiliog Male Voice Choir at a St. David’s Day Concert.

Why not join them? The group meet every Wednesday in Ponthir Baptist Church from 6.00-7.00pm. Everyone is very welcome to come, perhaps just to listen to them playing or even to join in – the players are at all varying levels and experience.
