Also in the Gwent Accordion Club are Dan Bailey’s Gran, Mary, who introduced him to the accordion and his sister Olivia who at 17 is their youngest member. Another long-standing member is Karen who has been associated with the band for some 15 years or more. Gerry their drummer has played for a number of years on cruise ships Margaret on the keyboard has experience with barn dances and also is a church organist. Ken on bass guitar has in the past backed Shaky Stevens. The remainder of them are relatively inexperienced.

They play a large selection and programme of music and the following are typical of the selection they perform -:

Arrivederci Roma; The Green Grass of Home; Delilah; Moonlight Serenade; Lichtensteiner Polka; Seventy-six trombones; Cheek to Cheek…….

You may notice a fair amount of “swing” emerging – its their musical director’s favoured genre.
