On a sunlit Sunday on the lawn of the Priory Hotel ten comic poets recited their work to a capacity audience in the “Dowds” marquee. Competition was stiff. There was much hilarity. Linda Vickers emerged the winner with Susannah Clayson and Nicholas Whitehead worthy runners up.
M.C., Goff Morgan, and Costa poetry prize winner, Jonathan Edwards, ensured humour was served continuously all afternoon. Non-stop laughter on the lawn – oh how we laughed.
