
The VB Samba Band a Community Samba Band.
The Samba Band is a drumming band based in Newport and Chepstow.
It was established in 2015 in Chepstow and have done 70+ performances many of which are local community events.
Samba is Afro Brazilian music. Its origins lie in the dances and religious practices of the West African slaves that were brought to Brazil during Portuguese colonisation in the 1500’s.
The Band has a approximately 20 members and rehearse at Hannah’s Music School, Chepstow on Tuesday lunchtime and Ponthir Village Hall on Wednesday evenings.
