The Collective is a dynamic 17-piece big band having an eclectic repertoire that includes not only standard big band charts but also many modern arrangements and compositions from musicians such as Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Steely Dan, Prince and many others.
Stylistically the band enjoys playing swing, latin, funk, soul, pop and fusion and is powered by an amazing rhythm section that can really groove creating lots of opportunities for many of the incredible improvisers that the band has in it’s ranks. The band regularly performs in Cardiff, at Chapel 1877. It’s former home was the sadly, now defunct, Four Bars Inn (Dempseys) in Cardiff.
