This select band of skilled Rakers helped, on Bank Holiday Monday, to transform the fast growing Wildflower Meadow situated opposite the Hanbury Arms. Visitors can now walk freely through the wildflowers to each of the benches and sculptures, encouraged by the enticing pathways.
In about a month’s time, the Meadow will be cut in preparation for the
Caerleon Festival, although this year much will remain as uncut as possible, so that wild flowers can grow on to set seed for next year.
